Played it again. Got stuck on the same point, is the dresser meant to open after the skull mask falls off it?

Well I spent 30 minutes on this so nice job drawing me in. I have to throw in the towel though, I got into the hidden part of the ceiling with the chest but had no clue what to do from there.

I had the hat and the skull mask. When I went upstairs to the chest it opened slightly then immediately closed. Not sure what else to do. I walked abd jumped around the entire room.
